This is Kali. She was taken in by a nice lady who was willing to take care of her since her owner could no longer keep her. Since, because of all the dogs they have taken in, they have been boarding Kali as a courtesy to her owner until they can find her a foster or forever home. She has been exposed to other dogs, cats, and children and seems to do pretty well with all of them! She is smallish and we don't think she will be much bigger than she already is.
Here's what the people at the boarding facility have to say about her after having her there for four days: "Kali is really a wonderful dog and has big beautiful trusting eyes. She loves to play with other dogs and has made a couple of friends here already. She likes to give kisses and has been a lot more cooperative about coming in now. [She originally made a "game" out of going into her indoor run which, of course, tried the patience o f the kennel folks.] We simply keep a leash on her while she's outside and try not to give her the opportunity to run away from us. I think she's very trainable but is a very strong dog." So it sounds like she just needs some basic obedience training. We were told by her earlier family that "she is crate-and-house-trained, playful, good with other dogs, older children and grew up around cats but plays with them a little more enthusiastically than a lot of cats would like."
